We offer a full range of services including advice, pre-travel risk assessment and immunisations. Our Practice Nurses will be pleased to give advice to those going abroad.
Around 12 weeks before travelling each member of the party should complete a Travel Risk Assessment Form.
Online Travel Risk Assessment Form
The practice will then advice you on staying healthy whist abroad and let you know if you need any vaccinations prior to travelling.
Please note that some vaccinations can take several weeks to be fully active. If you seek advice too close to your departure date you run the risk of not being fully covered.
Malaria prophylaxis usually needs to be started two weeks before you depart. Some vaccinations involve a whole course of injections which may take up to six months.
Some vaccinations are not available on the NHS, the practice nurse will be able to advise you of these.
Please check on the Goverment Website for foreign travel advice for the country that you are visiting.
The legal status and regulation of some medicines prescribed or brought in the UK can be different in other countries therefore please read Best Practice when Travelling with Medicines.
Some medications prescribed by the practice can only be issued for 30 days.
